BIOGRAPHY:
Debuting with Debussy in New York and accepted into the extremely competitive piano program at Special Music School after three years of study- Miles A. (17) began learning piano at the relatively late age of 12, and has since tackled some of the most difficult repertoire and established himself as an individual on stage. He holds a particularly deep connection with the music of the Impressionists and the fugues of Bach. Since his 2021 debut, he has performed in multiple New York concert halls, each time bringing something more important than virtuosity to the audience: artistic concepts of motion and suffering.
Outside music, Miles A. engages in scholarly pursuits of history, literature, theology, mathematics, and philosophy. In partnership with his brother, he is developing a philosophy of metaphysics defining the foundation of art in the human experience. Musically, he is teaching himself conducting and composition; as well as probing new ideas in classical improvisation.
Miles A. currently studies under the venerable Rina Dokshitsky at the Colburn Conservatory. As an African-American, he is proud to represent his culture in an art-form most afflicted, conventionally and to this day, by closed minds, limited diversity of experiences, and a lack of soul.
